Caitlin is trained in multiple areas, including the Orton-Gillingham Approach, Sounds-In-Motion, Wilson Reading, SPIRE, Sound Sensible and Recipe for Reading. Caitlin understands the importance of the Science of Reading and how explicit and systematic instruction is crucial for students learning to read and write. She has experience in individualized writing instruction to help students meet the New York State Standards in writing. Caitlin is also trained in Natural Language Acquisition, an approach that targets moving children who use echolalia/scripted language to self-generated language.

Caitlin has also attended continuing education courses on topics such as A Strengths-Based Approach to Autism and Behavior, Play-Based Speech Therapy, and Improve Regulation to Improve Communication.

When Caitlin is not providing speech and language services, you can find her spending time with her family and friends, searching for her next fiction book to read, and playing with her nieces and nephews (pictured here!).
